Winter's Little Secrets by Anthony West Patane

Mimi Plumb Chambers was born in Berkeley, California. She received her MFA in Photography in 1986 from the San Francisco Art Institute. For the past 20 years she has been on the photography faculty at San Jose State University, and has been a visiting artist and lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Stanford University, the San Francisco Art Institute and Santa Clara University.

Mimi's work is in the permanent collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Houston Museum of Fine Art, and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art. She has received grants and fellowships from the California Arts Council, the Marin Arts Council, and the Phelan Art Award in Photography. Her photographs of horses are currently represented by the Julie Nester Gallery in Park City. Utah, and the SFMOMA Artists Gallery in San Francisco. Other projects include photographing for the California State Department of Housing and the United Farmworkers Union.
