Pecha Kucha Night

“As their studies at San Jose State University are coming to an end, the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduates will host an official Pecha Kucha Night in downtown San Jose to introduce themselves and their work to the greater community.
Representing 4 distinct disciplines (pictorial, spatial, photography and digital media) as well as interesting interdisciplinary approaches, the evening will give the audience a glimpse into the technical and visual research each artist diligently pursued over the last 3 years.
The variety of backgrounds and nationalities of the individual speakers will equally unveil their unique view on contemporary culture, as translated in their visual work.
In addition, this presentation will announce the beginning of their collaboration with independent curator Christian L. Frock for their culminating MFA exhibition set to open in May 2013 at the Art Ark Gallery in San Jose.

BFA – Deadline Extension Through Monday, Nov. 5th

Hello to you all,

If you are interested in pursuing a BFA in Photography, now is the time to take the leap!

You have probably seen the notices around the Art Department announcing the November 1st deadline.
Well, guess what? If you haven’t applied yet, it’s not too late.
The deadline for BFA applications has been extended!
Get your application in by Monday, November 5th at 5PM and your work will still be considered. To make it easier for you, I have attached the application form below.

Remember, as of next fall, we will be offering the new, 120 unit BFA in Photography. If you apply now, you will be eligible to take advantage of the new BFA next fall.

Most of those who apply are accepted, because you tend to be our strongest, most serious students. But letting me   know that you are applying is also a good move, so that I can look out for your application during the selection process.

If you have questions about the application process, please feel free to contact me via email tomorrow or over the weekend. The application is attached below.

Hope to see your application next week!BFA Programs Application
